2 more people die in Rajshahi taking ‘too much liquor’

Dhaka – Two more people died after taking ‘excessive liquor’ at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital here on Wednesday.The deceased were identified as Jahangir Ali, 55, son of Sultan Ali and Lalan Mandal, 45, son of Marumandal of Kutipara area in Charghat upazilain Rajshahi,UNB News Agency Reported.
Nibaran Chandra Barman, officer-in-charge of Charghat Police Station,said they might have died after taking excessive liquor as five other people in Charghat upazila died in the same way on Tuesday.The deceased were identified as Jahar Lal, 55, Godhuni Rani, 70, and Anil, 55, resident of the Sweeper Colony, Mahtab Uddin, 55, of Gorshahpur and Helal Uddin, 56, of Muktarpur.Police said all of them fell sick after taking liquor on Monday and Tuesday.Among htem, Mahtab Uddin died at Charghat Upazila Helath Complex on
Monday.Later, Jahar Lal, Godhuni Rani, Helal Uddin were also taken to Charghat upazila health complex. As their condition was
deteriorating, their family members took them back to their houses where they died. Besides, Anil died at Rajshahi Medical College
Hospital.Doctors found the presence of liquor in his body, said hospital sources.
