Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested three alleged drug peddlers in possession of 147 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup at Sitarampur Bhanga Bridge in Sadar upazila on Friday.The arrestees were identified as Rony Islam, 30, son of Amirul Islam, a resident of Shalgharia village in Sdadar upazila, Alam Khan,32, late Ayon Uddin of Srikantopur village in Atgharia upazila and Joynal Hossain,42, son of late Jafar Ali of Krishnapur village in Sadar
upazila of Pabna district.DB police sources said acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police conducted a drive in the area and intercepted a microbus at about 8:00 am.Later, police arrested the trio and recovered the 147 bottles of Indian Phensidyl syrup from the vehicle.
