Dhaka, Aug 05 – A three-member probe committee was yesterday formed to investigate the allegation made by a woman that five police personnel raped her in a police station on Friday in Khulna.The Railway Police formed the committee, led by Firoz Ahmed, Assistant police super of Railway police, Khulna circle given the ultimatum to submit the report within seven days.
Earlier the day, before a Khulna court the 21 years old lady alleged that on Friday evening the railway police detained her. They took her to the railway police station. At night one by one raped her and later filed drug case against her.
The five accused are the officer in charge of the police station Osman Gani Pathan, Sub Inspector Goutam Kumar Paul, Assistant Sub Inspector Nazmul, Constable Mizan and Harun.
After hearing the allegation the Court ordered to examine the health condition of the victim. On Monday after examining the health condition the woman was sent to jail.
Dr. Shafikuzzaman, physician of Forensic department of Khulna medical college and hospital said that it will take some days to get the medical report, before that we could not say anything.
The Brother-in-Law of the girl said that on August 2 his sister in law reached Khulna. The Khulna railway police detained her as a suspect.
“At midnight they raped her and later they filed case against her as a drug dealer and sent her before the court,” he added.
The OC also offered us a big amount of money to suppress the matter but we did not agree with him and now the OC threatened us, he mentioned.
However, the officer in charge denied the allegation against him and said that he heard about her allegation to him.
“I heard that the girl alleged before court against me. We detained her with five bottle of Phensedyl (One kind of drug) while detaining her there was woman sub inspector and woman constable,” he said adding that while she was in custody there was eight police personal including three women constable at the station.
