A total of 32 patients including 10 children have died due to negligence of doctors or wrong treatment at the Sylhet OsmanyMedical College Hospital in 12 hours till Tuesday morning, it is learnt. Of the dead 5 are new born infants.
Many patients admited to the hospital have left out of panic.Relatives of patients have complained that the deaths were due to neglience of doctors at the hospital.
Dr. Abdus Salam, assistant director of the hospital told journalists that the new born infants died of various ailments. some had birth defects, others had physical problems.
He said that the hospital authorities would look into the allegation of neglect of duty of doctors. A committee of inquiry has been constituted for the purpose. – News Desk
