35 more Bangladeshi women in KSA send SOS videos

Dhaka, Nov 27 – Thirty-five more Bangladeshi female workers have sent a video message from Saudi Arabia with fervent SOS (save our souls) calls to be rescued. In the video shared by Md Shariful Hasan, Programme head of Brac Migration, on his Facebook wall, the 35 women wearing veils were seen crying and urging Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to bring them back home.
One of the female workers described their ordeals, saying they fled their workplaces after becoming victims of torture and brutality by their Saudi employers.
She said they went to the police and have been staying in police custody for the last several months. “There’s no one here to look after us. We’re begging of you, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Please help us to return back,” she said.
Earlier, similar videos messages were sent by Bangladeshi female workers by Hosna Akhter and Sumi Akhter.
Of them, Sumi has already been rescued and brought home while Hosna is scheduled to return home tonight (Wednesday night). – UNB
