Sunamganj, Apr 4 – Four people went missing as a trawler, carrying around 50 people, capsized in Tanguar Haor under Tahirpur upazila on Tuesday morning.With the latest incident of trawler (engine boat) in Sunamganj a total of three trawlers have fallen into such accident in Bangladesh in the last one week. In the first trawler capsize in Satkhira 17 bodies were recovered and in the second in Narayanganj four bodies were found.
Nandan Kumar, officer-in-charge of Tahirpur Police Station, said the Uttar Sreepur-bound trawler from Tahirpur sank in the haor around 9am due to stormy weather.
All but four people managed to swim to safety, he said.
On information, divers rushed in to rescue the missing people, the OC said. – GW News Desk with UNB
