The 40 days employment generation programme of the government for destitute people in the six upazilas of the district is near completion.
The aim of the programme is to assist the poor particularly the day and the farm laborers of all the six upazilas in the district to overcome their poverty and job crisis during the lean period.District Relief and Rehabilitation office sources said over Tk 8.20 crore have been sanctioned for the 10,257 workers to implement different infrastructural development works in rural areas of the district.Each of the workers would get Tk 200 per day as wage from the
