Ten mobile courts in separate drives have fined 48 people Tk 29,000 for roaming here and there in different parts of the district defying government instructions to stay at home and maintain social distancing.
Additional District Magistrate Mohammad Tofazzal Hossain said the mobile courts, led by executive magistrates, conducted the drives in Shahzadpur, Raiganj, Tarash and Sadar upazilas from Saturday morning till midnight and slapped the fine.
The mobile courts also conducted awareness campaign during the drives.
