6 Bodies of unnatural death victims found in N’ganj in a day

Narayanganj, July 23 (UNB)- Police recovered six bodies from the district between early Tuesday and noon.

Five of the deceased were identified as Mishor Shikder, 25, son of late Safiuddin of Kataikhali in Bandar Upazila; Barek Mia, son of Abdus Samad; Shefali begum, 42, Syed Ahmed, 17, and Suruj Mia, 38.

Bandar Police Station’s Sub-Inspector Ajharul Islam said Mishor took a mobile phone as security for Tk 500 from Mithu. Later, Mithu and several others stabbed Mishor on early Tuesday in Noarda area.

Locals took Mishor to a clinic where the doctor pronounced him dead.

Police arrested Mithu, Munna, Sakib, Jisan after a case was filed over the murder, the SI said.

On the other hand, the body of Barek Mia, an auto-rickshaw driver, was recovered from Balur Math area of the Bandar Upazila. The cause of his death could not be known immediately, said SI Ajharul.

Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Araihajar Police Station, said Suruj Mia was killed in a feud over land by his opposition at Bagdi City Market of Fatehpur Union at 6am.

Meanwhile, two bodies, including that of a woman, were recovered from the Sadar Upazila.

Shefali Begum’s decomposed body was recovered from Lal Khan area of Fatullah three days after she had gone missing. Police said the cause of Syed Ahmed’s death could not be ascertained yet.

Hasanuzzaman, Sub-Inspector of Fatullah Model Police Station, said Shefali used to sell green vegetables.

Police recovered her decomposed body after being informed by locals. It was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.

Inspector HM Jashim Uddin of Siddhirganj Police Station said they recovered the body of an unidentified youth from Basundhara Koel Factory area in Siddhirganj. Neither the cause of the death, nor the identity of the victim could be known yet.
