6 virus cases: Stop retail sales, Dhaka Karwan Bazar asked

Dhaka, April 22 – The authorities concerned have imposed restrictions on retail sales at Karwan Baza to prevent the spread of virus as three coronavirus infected patients were found there.As a result, city dwellers and inhabitants of the adjoining areas won’t get opportunities to buy vegetables here anymore.
Only the whole sellers will be able to able to sell their goods within a time specified for them.
Police took the decision on Tuesday to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Tejgaon Police Station officer-in-charge Hasnat Khondker confirmed it.
The Tejgaon Police Station OC said the retailers will be able to sell their products sitting at the Govt Science College premises. The wholesalers of vegetables and food will have to complete their trading between 9:00pm and 2:00am, while the fish mongers and fish wholesalers will be able to sell their fish between 4:00am and 9:00am.
The trucks and other motor vehicles carrying the vegetables and fish will enter Kawran Bazar through the by-lane adjacent to the CA Bhaban, roads in front of Wasa Bhaban and Hotel La Vinci. The vehicles will go out through the roads in front of Petrobangla and TCB Bhaban.
It is learnt that six coronavirus infected patients have been detected at Kawran Bazar area. They are traders, sellers and employees. Everyday thousands of people visit the market to buy different food items, but they don’t maintain safe social distancing.
