Mobile courts, in their separate drives, fined eight houses or establishments Tk 24,000 for having the larvae of dengue virus-carrying Aedes mosquito on their premises in different parts of the city under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC).
The mobile courts conducted drives in city’s Uttara, Mirpur, Pallabi, Shahzadpur, Tolarbagh in Mirpur-10, and Karwan Bazar areas of the city from 10 am to 12 pm as part of a combing operation and fined the people concerned.
During the drive, the DNCC people visited 953 houses, establishments and under-construction buildings.
It also issued warnings to some homeowners as they failed to cooperate with the city corporation authorities in controlling the Ades mosquito spread.
In a bid to protect the city dwellers from dengue, the DNCC launched the combing operation on Saturday and conducted the mobile court drives.
