University of Asia Pacific (UAP) is going to arrange ACM ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2016, (an annual multi-tiered competitive programming competition among the universities of the world) on its campus on November 18-19.
Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), UAP is organizing the contest under the leadership of UAP’s Vice Chancellor Professor Jamilur Reza Choudhury, said a release here today.
A total of 1,665 teams have registered for the online preliminary contest where 1,566 teams from 81 institutes have participated on October 15.
Of them, a total of 125 teams will be selected for the main contest. Baylor registration for the selected teams will start from October 24 and remain open till November 3.
Professor Dr C J Hwang, Director of ACM-ICPC (International Collegiate Programming Contest) Asia Regional Contest, will address the contest as special guest which will be held on November 18-19, it said.
The World Finals 2017 will be held in Rapid City, South Dakota on May 20-25 in 2017, hosted by Excellence in Computer Programming, Inc., the release added.
The highest ranked 3-4 teams from ACM ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2016 will get chance to attend the World Finals, reports BSS.
