Dhaka – Four Bangladeshi women and a minor boy returned home through Benapole check post on Friday night after languishing in Indian prison for two years.The returnees were identified as Sultana Khatun, 24, Ayesha Begum, 18, and Rubida Khatun alias Ramesa, 19, of Bandarban, and Masura Begum, 28, and Abdullah Al Mamun, 2, of Khulna district.
Members of Border Security Force’s (BSF’s) Petrapole camp, handed them over to the members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) at Benapole check post at night,UNB news agency reported.ABM Muhit Hossain, coordinator of Bangladesh Women Lawyers’ Association, Jessore, said the arrestees went to India illegally in search of jobs two years back.Indian police arrested them from a house in Kolkata.Afterwards, they were sent to jail by a court and served two years’ jail term.Upon completion of the jail term, they were kept in Nilua Shelter
Home there.Later, BSF handed them over to BGB through Benapole check post at night.
