Dhaka – Police, in special drives from Monday night to this morning, arrested 60 persons, including two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami with 500-gram of ganja from seven upazilas in Satkhira.Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.During the drives, 18 were arrested by sadar police with 100-gram of ganja, Kalaroa police 8, Tala police 8, Kaliganj police five accused, Shyamnagar police 10 including two activists of Jamaat-e-Islami, Assasuni police seven with 400-gram of ganja, Patkelghata police two and Debhata police two accused.Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.Police said the arrested were sent to jail after producing before the concerned court this morning.
