Admission Test for 2017 intake of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU), Dhaka was held peacefully on 9/12/16. A total of 30,265 candidates had taken part in the admission test for admission into four year courses under four faculties namely, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Agribusiness Management, Faculty of Animal Science and Faculty of Fisheries & Aquaculture against 540 seats. It appears that 56 candidates vied for one seat.Strict measures with the help of law-enforcing agencies were taken to control any untoward incident during the admission test. Sufficient transport arrangements were made to take the candidates from SAU campus to different centers. There was no report of adoption of unfair means in the test except 8 candidates who were apprehended for committing digital crime.
It may be mentioned here that the present admission test was the first test for the new Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kamal Uddin Ahamed who had creditably and successfully accomplished the goal through providing cordial leadership and systematic management.
All the teachers, officers, staff and workers of the university worked hard under different sub-committees including the Publicity Sub-committee to conducting the admission test efficiently. The SAU Rover Scouts, different socio-political organizations and the general students also contributed towards holding the admission test smoothly.
Yours truly,
Professor M Zahidul Haque
