Dhaka – Detectives in a drive arrested nine people along with huge fake notes and currency-making machines and materials from Demra area in the city on Tuesday.The arrestees are Md Jamal, 30, Md Marfat Hossain, 24, Md Ziaul Kabir Shahin, 25, Md Rubel, 24, Md Afzal 25, Md Sujan Mia, 25, Md Shahin Mia, 22, Md Emran, 19, and Md Khurshed Alam alias Arif, 27,UNB news agency reported.Tipped off, a DB team carried out the drive in Demra area and arrested the nine members of counterfeit currency making syndicate and recovered fake notes amounting to Tk 10.70 lakh, said Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).The detectives also seized fake currency-making materials and machines from their possessions, Masud added.A case was filed.
