I really appreciate Mr. Sajib wazed Joy, the adviser to our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina writing to World Bank on the facebook regarding conspiracy on the Padma Bridge Project. Mr. Joy heavily criticised former US First Lady and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus.Joy wrote, some people including Dr Muhammad Yunus ‘work for the Word Bank against the interests of Bangladesh. So, they are not patriotic.’ Thank you Joy for your remark.
Joy would however love to depict a scenario that there is no corruption in Bangladesh. Members of the public know the truth. During the last caretaker government, a few corruption cases were filed against the leaders of the two main parties of Bangladesh. But after election and change of power all the cases against leaders of one party were gone and those against another party not only remained but multiplified.
The cases of share market debacle, money plundered from the Sonali Bank, Basic Bank and many other institutions are yet to be resolved.
Furthermore, one incumbent minister has said ‘if we could reduce percentage (better called bribe/corruption), a dramatic development could be noticed in the roads and highway sector.’
