The pro-Awami League teachers, known as the Yellow Panel, have won all of the 15 committee posts in the Rajshahi University Teacher’s Association (RUTA) election on Thursday.A total of 974 teachers out of 1143 cast their votes from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Jhubery Bhaban. Professor Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam and Prof Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin from the Panel were elected as the president and the general secretary respectively.
Prof Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam bagged 539 votes while Prof Dr. Md. Ruhul Amin 554 votes. Prof. Dr. Swarochish Sarkar was elected as the vice president while Dr. Md. Abdul Gani as treasurer and Dr. Md. Faruque Shah as joint secretary.
The elected members are Prof. Dr. Sanjib Kumar saha, Mamtaj Parvin, Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Ms. Jesmin Sultana, Md. Nur-e- Alam Siddiqui, Md. Ashraful Islam, Md.Jahidul Islam, Abul Bashar Md. Sarwar Alam, Dr. Md Khairul Islam, Dr. Md. Lutfur Rahman.
