Omar Farruque, special correspondent of online news portal Bangla Tribune, passed away at Square Hospital in Dhaka early Sunday.
The 52-year-old journalist was admitted to the hospital on Saturday noon as he felt chest pain at office, said Harun-or-Rashid, Bangla Tribune head of news.
Hospital doctors detected blocks in his heart and recommended urgent bypass surgery.
But Omar Farruque’s condition deteriorated at 1:30am and he breathed his last around 3:30am.
Source said, his first namaj-e-janza will be held at Dhaka Reporters Unity around 1pm, second at his workplace Bangla Tribune at 2pm and third one at Mir Hazirbagh Khalpar Jame Masjid after Asr prayer.
The journalist will be buried at the Jurain graveyard.
Omar Farruque left behind wife, two daughters and host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
