Rajshahi – The Bangladesh Botany Olympiad 2017, Rajshahi region, jointly organized by Bangladesh Botanical Society and Department of Botany of Rajshahi University (RU) was been held at Lecture Theatre of the department on Sunday .University Vice-chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan addressed the function as cheif guest.
Moderated by Farjana Ashrafi Nila, chairman of the department Professor Md Nurul Amin presided over it.
Pro-VC Professor Ananda Kumar Saha, Deputy Secretary of Science and Technology Ministry of Bangladesh M Badiar Rahman and General Secretary of Bangladesh Botanical Society Professor S K Shamimul Alam were present there.
On occasion of this day a colorful rally was brought out on campus that ended at Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium of the university after parading main streets of the campus.
A total of 200 students of different colleges under the Rajshahi Education Board took part in the competition.
At the end of the program Crests were given to top ten and Certificate of participation were given to all. – RU Correspondent
