Cricketer Arafat Sunny, mother discharged

Dhaka – The Women and Children Repression and Prevention Tribunal-4 of Dhaka on Thursday discharged cricketer Arafat Sunny and his mother Nargish Akhter in a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal.Judge Tabassum Islam of the tribunal passed the order yesterday. Sub-Inspector Md Yahia of Mohammadpur Police Station and also the investigation officer of the case filed the discharge report acquitting both accused as the charges were not proved against them.
The case statement says that Sunny and Nasrin Sultana were acquainted seven years back. Later, they developed the relationship between them and got married on December 4, 2014. However, their relationship deteriorated. Nasrin lodged a case against Sunny accusing him of giving indecent status on Facebook.
Ultimately, both of them compromised and Nasrin testified in favour of Sunny in the case filed against him. – Special Correspondent
