People want actions, not new commitment: Obaidul

Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said the people of the country want to see no fresh commitment from the government as they want to see more follow-up actions.“People don’t want to hear any new words. They want to see similarity between the words and actions at the fag end of its tenure. No body wants to see the colorful balloons of commitments,” he said.
The minister said this while talking to reporters after inspecting Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway at Chandana intersection in the district.
He said it is pointless to make commitments afresh as people will now assess the difference between the government’s pledges and its achievements.
About the journey of homebound people ahead of Eid, the minister said the government is doing everything possible so that people can go back home without hassle during the Eid vacation.
