10 gold bars recovered in Benapole

Benapole – Members of Border guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 10 gold bars, weighing 1.5 kg, from a mango orchard at Putkhali village here on Friday.Tipped off, a team of BGB-21 conducted a drive in the area and recovered the gold bars worth Tk 50 lakh in an abandoned condition, said Lieutenant colonel Tariqul Hakim, commanding officer of BGB-21.However, none was arrested in this connection as the smugglers managed to flee the scene sensing the presence of the border guards.The seized gold bars were deposited to Benapole Custom House.
