Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel arrested two alleged drug peddlers along with 11,695 pieces of Yaba tablets from the city’s Shah Amanat Bridge area early Monday.The arrestees were identified as Shaidul Alam, 24, of Ramu upazila of Cox’s Bazar district, and Rahim, 28, of Tekhnaf upazila of the same district.Assistant Police Super Sakhawat Hossain of Rab said being tipped off, a Rab-7 team conducted a drive in the area at about 12.30am and arrested Shahidul and Rahim while they along with the Yaba tablets were coming towards Chittagong city from Teknaf by a pickup van.The Rab team also recovered 11,695 pieces of Yaba tablets from a reserved wheel of the vehicle. -UNB, Chittagong
