BCL: East Zone trailing by 282 runs against Central Zone on Day-2 

Dhaka – The Islami Bank East Zone were trailing by 282 runs with seven wickets in hand in the first innings against Walton Central Zone on day 2 of their Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) – the domestic first class competition – at the Shahid Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi on Wednesday.
Central Zone resumed their first innings Wednesday morning on 406 for 4, featuring two centuries by Abdul Mazid and Shadman Islam, and went on to 546 before getting bowled out in 125.3 overs.
Shuvagata Hom, who resumed on overnight score of 50, contributed 76-ball 71 runs featuring eight fours and one six, while Mosharraf Hossain who was there with him, scored just 21 runs hitting four fours while lower order Mohammad Sharif made 61-ball 41 runs with three fours and three sixes.
National all-rounder Shohag Gazi, who claimed three wickets for 140 runs, finally made a five-wicket haul conceding 188 runs, national pacer Mohammad Saifuddin picked-up 2/77while Abu Jayed Abbed took 2/51.
In reply, East Zone the first innings and scored 264 for 3 in 46 overs featuring a swashbuckling century by Liton Das.
After the departure of two top order batsmen -opener Mehedi Maruf (13) and one down batsman and captain Mominul Haque (6) for 53 runs, another opener Liton Das pairing with two down Tasamul Haque scored 148 runs in the 3rd wicket stand.
Liton Das hammered unbeaten 139 runs off 125 deliveries hitting 23 fours and one six, Tasamul Haque scored 93-ball 67 runs featuring eleven fours while middle order Afif Hossain made run-a-ball 31 runs including three fours and one six.
Shuvagata Hom captured two wickets for 82 runs while Mosharraf Hossain took one for 55 runs.UNB
