Dhaka – A bus helper was killed and 30 others injured as the bus plunged into a ditch beside Jashore-Narail road at Karimpur village in Bagharpara upazila here on Friday.The deceased was identified as Raju Hossain, 34.Witnesses said a Narail-bound bus carrying at least 50 people hit a roadside tree after the bus driver lost his control over the steering in front of Karimpur High School at the place and plunged into a ditch around 11am, leaving one dead on the spot and 30 injured.
Later, police and fire fighters with the help of the locals rescued the injured from the spot and took them to Narail General Hospital.
Later, seven among the injured were shifted to Jashore General Hospital considering the severity of their injury.
Confirming the incident, Bagharpara Police Station Sub-inspector Niamul Haque said the bus driver managed to flee the scene immediately after the accident.UNB
