Police recovered decomposed body of a housewife from a maize field at
Dayarampur village in Sadar upazila on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Joytsna Sutradhar, 25, wife of Sarat
Sutradhar of the village.
Locals said Joytsna and her husband had often altercation on various
issues since after their marriage.
Joytsna went missing from her in-laws’ house on July 20.
Failing to know anything about Joytsna’s whereabouts, her father
Bholanath Sutradhar filed a general diary with Sadar Police Station on
July 23.
Shafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of the police station, said locals
spotted the hacked decomposed body of Joytsna on Wednesday and
informed them.
Later, police recovered the body around 10:00am and sent it to Sadar
Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Charges framed against 55 Jhalakati opposition men
A court here has framed charges against 55 opposition leaders and
activists in a case filed for vandalising Rajapur Police Station on
June 22.
Judge M Al Amin of Senior Judicial Magistrate Court took cognisance of
the charges brought against the accused after a hearing on Wednesday.
Leaders and activists of the upazila unit BNP, Jubo Dal and Chhatra
Dal are among the accused.
On June 22, BNP supporters were demonstrating in the upazila town as
part of the party’s central programmes. At one stage, the
demonstrators locked into a fight with the police, beat up five of the
law enforcers and vandalised the police station.
