Dhaka- Air Asia Rajshahi Masters team almost ensured a final berth with their 3rd consecutive win in the five-team battle of 100-ball Walton Masters Cricket Carnival beating Raw Nations Khulna Masters by eight wickets at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium here in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.
Earlier in the morning, Khaled Mashud Pilot-led Air Asia Rajshahi secured their 2nd successive win beating Beximco Dhaka Masters by four runs at the same venue after beating Sylhet Sixers by six wickets in their first match on Wednesday.
Sent in to bat first in the day’s first match in the morning, Air Asia Rajshahi scored 114 for 7 in 100 balls featuring 28 runs each by Waseluddin Ahmed and Khaled Mashud Pilot and 25 runs by Anisur Rahman.
Later Waseluddin Ahmed was adjudged man of the match.
Sajal Chowdhury claimed three wickets each for 23 runs.
Chasing a target of 115 runs, Beximco Dhaka Masters folded their innings at 110 runs for 9 in stipulated 100 balls with Sajal Chowdhury making 23, Rashedul Haque Sumon 20 and Faisal Hossain Dickens 15 runs.
Mushifur Rahman grabbed three wickets for 20 runs.
In the day’s other match, Akram Khan-led Ambeer Chattogram Masters made a flying start outplaying Sylhet Sixers by 43 runs at the same venue.
Batting first, Ambeer Chattogram piled up 146 runs with Azam Iqbal scoring 34, skipper Akram Khan and Masudur Rahman Mukul 33 runs each.In reply, Sylhet Sixers scored 103 runs for 7 in quota 100 balls to concede the huge defeat.UNB
