Dhaka – Kurigram District clinched the Basundhara Group Independent Cup Kabaddi Tournament title beating Madaripur District by 58-36 points in the final at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium here on Sunday.Mizanur Rahman of Kurigram was adjudged the best player of the tournament, Al Amin of the same team named as the best player of the final while Nasir of Madaripur was adjudged the best raider.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Shikder was the chief guest in the day’s final and later he distributed the prizes. President of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation and Inspector General of Police Dr Mohammad Javed Patwari was also present on the occasion.
Champions Kurigram District received a prize money of Tk 1,00,000 while runners-up Madaripur District got a prize money of Tk 50,000 in addition to trophies while two losing semifinalists Khulna and Sylhet received Tk 15,000 each.
Earlier in the semifinals this morning, Madaripur beat Khulna by 53-47 points while Kurigram eliminated Sylhet beating them by 39-35 points.UNB
