Three suspected robbers were beaten to death by a mob at Hadal village
in Faridpur upazila early Sunday.
Among the deceased, two were identified as Milon, 25, and Joinal, 26.
Both were residents of Thanapara in Faridpur upazila headquarter.
Police said local people chased a gang of 5/7 robbers when they were
roaming around the area suspiciously around 2am on Sunday.
The villagers caught three of them and gave them a good thrashing,
leaving the trio dead on the spot. Police recovered the bodies.
Police said Milon was wanted in various cases.
In another development police arrested three suspected robbers along
with arms and ammunition from Larihara Govt Primary school ground at
Junglekhain in Patia upazila early Saturday.
The arrestees were Arif, Jahed and Giasuddin alias Kader.
Sub-inspector Mazharul Haque of Patia Police Station said police
arrested the trio after chasing while they were taking preparation for
committing robbery in the area around 2am.
Police also recovered a gun, three rounds of bullet and some sharp
weapons from their possession.
