Dhaka – Bhutan tasted the first victory in their 2nd match of the South Asian Qualifiers of the Dhaka Bank FIBA Asia Champions Cup Basketball beating Nepal by 70-65 points at the Dhanmondi wooden floor gymnasium here on Wednesday.The match was locked in 38-38 points in the first half.Bhutan made a frustrating start losing to hosts Bangladesh by 49-61 points after trailing by 31-35 points in the first half on Tuesday.
Bangladesh played their 2nd match against Sri Lanka on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier on Tuesday night, the Maldives beat Nepal by 63-60 points after trailing by 28-38 points in the first session.
Five South Asian countries– Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and hosts Bangladesh – are taking part in the South Asian qualifiers.The champions and runners-up teams will qualify for the 2nd phase of the meet.UNB
