39 RU students to receive gold medals

Rajshahi, July 4 – A total of 39 former students of the Rajshahi University (RU) are going to receive gold medals and certificates in different categories for their outstanding results in the academic career at the graduate and post-graduate levels. The decision came from the 42nd meeting of university Award Committee on Wednesday while vice-chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan was in the chair, AHM Aslam Hossen, deputy registrar of academic section confirmed the news.
The awards will be given to them in an award giving ceremony on 26 July at the university senate building where Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid is expected to address the function as chief guest. Besides, Vice-chancellor of National University Professor Dr Harun-or- Rashid is also expected to present as special guest while RU vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan will preside over the program.
Besides, The Agrani Bank Gold Medal and Certificate will be given to the 32 meritorious students who can secure the first position among the first class firsts under eight faculties in their honours exam in the academic year of 2015 and 2016, and master’s exam in the academic year of 2014 and 2015 as well.
Further, three students of Philosophy Department under Arts Faculty will receive “Dr Mamtaz Uddin Ahamed Gold Medal and Certificate” those stood first class first positions at the masters’ exam in the academic year of 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The top meritorious student of MBBS program in the exam year of 2016 and 2017 under Medical faculty will get “Dr AK Khan Gold Medal and Certificate”. – RU Correspondent
