A man was killed and four others were injured as the rooftop of a boat on cruise collapsed and fell on its passengers at Halti beel (water body) in Naldanga upazila on Monday.The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 50.Local sources said a group of members of an association of motorcycle renters went on a river cruise by the boat in Halti beel at noon.As they reached the midstream of the water body, suddenly the boat’s rooftop collapsed and fell on some passengers under the pressure of some others staying on the top, leaving five people, including Rafiqul, injured.The injured were rushed to a private clinic in the upazila headquarters where doctors declared Rafiqul dead. -UNB, Natore
