Jonny Bairstow takes England to 305

Dhaka – In their last league stage game of the ongoing ICC World Cup, England posted 305 against New Zealand riding on the second consecutive century of Jonny Bairstow.

England won the toss and opted to bat first. Bairstow and Jason Roy proved the call was right adding 123 runs in the first wicket stand in just 18.4 overs.

Coming to bowl as the sixth bowler, James Neesham removed Jason for 60 off 61 with eight fours.

Joe Root and Jos Buttler failed to impress with the bat as they fell for 24 and 11 respectively.

Eion Morgan added 45 runs off 40 deliveries with five fours.

England were 241 for four wickets. In the last 10 overs, they added only 64 runs losing four more wickets.

For New Zealand, Trent Boult, Colin de Grandhomme and Neesham took two wickets each.

Before this game, England played eight matches and won five of them while lost the three others.

New Zealand, on the other hand, played eight matches as well and won five of them while one was washed out due to rain, and they lost two.
