A local official of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC)
allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at a house in the town.
The deceased was identified as Rezaul Karim, state officer of BSCIC, Bogra and son of
late Nazib Uddin of Gabtali upazila of the district.
Sources said Rezaul went to the corporation’s rest house in the town to take a rest on
Monday afternoon and had remained unnoticed since then.
When Rezaul’s colleagues did not get any response from his room on Tuesday morning,
they informed police who later broke open the door and found his lifeless body hanging
from a ceiling fan.
