SAFF U-18: Bangladesh to fly for Nepal on Wednesday

Dhaka -Bangladesh U-18 Football team will fly for Nepal on Wednesday morning to participate in the SAFF Under-18 Championship 2019 at the APF Stadium in Kathmandu of Nepal. The championship will be held from September 20 from September 29.SAFF runners-up Bangladesh has been put in the three-team Group B along with India and Sri Lanka while Group A comprises of defending champions and hosts Nepal, Maldives, Bhutan and Pakistan.

Bangladesh team will start their campaign taking on Sri Lanka in their first match on September 21 and will play their last group match against India on September 25.

Top two teams from each group will play the semifinals on September 27 while the winners of the semis will play final on September 29, at APF Stadium in the Nepalese capital.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) announced a 30-member squad, comprising of 23 booters and 7 officials for the competition at a press conference in BFF House on Tuesday.

Team Manager Md Amer Khan, Head Coach Andrew Peter Turner, Assistant coaches Qazi Altabul Haq, Rased Ahmed and captain Yeasin Arafat were present on the occasion.

Bangladesh is going to participate for the third time in the SAFF U-18 Championships, which was previously known as SAFF U-19 Championship.
