Tri-Nation T20I: Tigers face Zimbabwe to ensure final berth

Dhaka — The Tigers will face Zimbabwe in their third match of the ongoing Tri-Nation T20I Series on Wednesday at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. The match will begin at 6:30 pm (Bdst). It will be telecast live by Gtv. Bangladesh won the first game against Zimbabwe but lost the second one to high-flying Afghanistan. A win will help the Tigers book a place in the final scheduled for Sep 24.

Bangladesh played four T20Is at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium before this match but won once. Tigers faced Zimbabwe in T20Is 10 times before Wednesday’s match and won six of them.

Bangladesh made several changes in their squad for the third and fourth match of the ongoing series.Soumya Sarkar, Abu Hider Rony, Mehedi Hasan and Yasin Arafat were overlooked to pave way for Shafiul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mohammad Naim Sheikh and Aminul Islam Biplob.

While Shafiul and Rubel have been recalled after a long time, Najmul, Naim and Aminul got the call to T20Is squad for the first time. Naim played four First-class, 32 List-A and four Twenty20 games and scored 330, 1,737 and 101 runs respectively. He has four centuries in List-A cricket. Aminul Islam played 19 List-A and two Twenty20 games. Although a lower-order batsman, he is known for his leg-spinning ability.
