A man was killed in a clash between two groups of villagers in Titas upazila on Saturday
afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Nayan Mia, 22, son of Suruj Mia of Porakandi village of
the upazila.
Quoting local people police said Shafique of Porakandi village had a long standing
enmity with Mir Hossain and Mostaque of Bhitakandi village over a land.
On Saturday afternoon, the people of Shafique group and Mostaque group locked into an
altercation when Shafique and his men were returning to their village after cutting paddy
from the field.
At one stage, they attacked each other, triggering a clash around 5pm that left 5 to 6
people.
The injured were rushed to Gouripur health complex where doctors declared Nayan dead.
Among the injured, Kahirul, 24, and Afiluddin, 18 were shifted to Comilla Medical
College hospital for better treatment.
Later, police went to spot and brought the situation under control. -UNB, Comilla
