Three children, including two siblings, drowned in a pond at Faridpur
in Charghat upazila Saturday noon.
The deceased were Sanjida Khatun, 9 and her brother Shovon, children
of Azizur Rahman of Charghat and their cousin Ritu, 9, daughter of
Rabiul Islam of Faridpur area.
Charghat thana officer-in-charge Abdur Razzaq said Shovon drowned in
the pond while playing. Her sister Sanjida and cousin Ritu slipped in
to the pond while trying to rescue him at 12 noon.
Local people recovered the bodies from the pond after a hectic search.
