A man was killed and 15 others were injured in a clash over toll collection and establishing dominance in Ranihati Bazar area of Shibganj upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Kafiluddin.District police super Bashir Ahmed, quoting witnesses, said a group of miscreants swooped on Kafiluddin and hit him with lethal weapons inside the Ranihati Bazar toll counter around 7:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.The miscreants also exploded several crude bombs during the attack injuring 15 people.Among the injured, two people—Channu and Mosidul Haque Babu—were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical condition.Additional police members were deployed in the area to fend off further trouble. -UNB, Chapainawabganj
