One person was killed when a motorcycle collided head-on with an oil tanker at South Shahjalal Bridge in the city on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Shamim Ahmad, 22, son of Abdul Qadir of Bharan Sultanpur village of Jakiganj upazila.Sources said when Shamim was going to Jakiganj from the city riding his motorcycle at about 9.30pm, suddenly the motorcycle dashed into the oil tanker coming from the opposite direction, leaving him dead on the spot.On information, police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.Police also seized the oil tanker but its driver managed to escape.A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Sylhet
