At least 10 shops were gutted by a fire that broke out in Laribari Bazar area in Kalukhali upazila early Wednesday.
Rajkumar Saha, station officer of Rajbari fire service, said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a shop in the area and soon engulfed nine adjacent shops at about 3:00am.On information, two firefighting units–one from Rajbari and another from Pangsha– rushed in and doused the flame after two hours of frantic efforts with the help of locals.The extent of losses from the fire was estimated to be Tk15 lakh. –UNB, Rajbari
