At least six people were killed in separate road accidents in Sadar and Bahubal upazila of the district on Friday.
In Sadar upazila, four people were killed in a head-on collision between a bus and an easy-bike at Puran Bazar in Shayestagnj municipality.The deceased were identified as police constable Jubayer Ahmed, 22, a resident of Nurpur village in Sadar upazila, Shahin, 20, son of Abdul Jalil of Karimpur village in Chunarughat upazila, easy-bike driver Kamal Miah, 20, and Hossain Ali, 50, of Bandar village in Bahubal upazila.Police and witnesses said the accident occurred when the Sylhet-bound bus coming from Habiganj veered off the road at Puran Bazar and crushed into the easy-bike (Tomtom), killing the four on the spot.In another incident, two people were killed as an oil tanker crushed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Rashidpur in Bahubal upazila in the
morning.The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Nurul Haque of Charigaon village in the upazila and Bachchhu Miah of the same village. -UNB
