A labourer was killed and two others were injured as a truck loaded with sand overturned and fell into a ditch at Batarghat in Sadar upazila of the district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Khorshed Alam, 40, son of Afsar Ali of Boira Paranpur village of the upazila.Police and witnesses said the truck turned upside down and fell into a roadside ditch in the area at about 7:00am, trapping labourer Khorshed inside.Khorshed died on the spot while two others received injuries.On information, police recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem examination.The two injured were given first aid.Sub-inspector Aminur Rahman of Sherpur Sadar Police Station confirmed the accident. –UNB, Sherpur
