Police recovered a touchstone-made statue worth about Tk50 lakh from a house at Mulghar village in Fakirhat upazila on Thursday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted a raid at the house of one Ashraful Haque at the village and recovered the statue weighing 4.25 kgs in the afternoon, said Anwar Hossain, officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Police Station.
None was arrested in this connection.
The statue was looted from a temple of the village four months ago.
At that time, Mahendra Pal on behalf of the temple managing committee filed a case in this connection. -UNB, Bagerhat
