IUBAT Victory Day pledge for knowledge-based society

International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) observed the 43rd Victory Day with due solemnity and paid homage to martyrs. Academics expressed renewed pledge to make the country a prosperous and peaceful abode realizing the objective of the liberation war of 1971. IUBAT joined with government, different political parties, socio-cultural organizations and educational institutions to celebrate this red letter day in the history of our beloved motherland. University community recalled  the day  marked by supreme sacrifice of  Bangali nation culminating Independent Bangladesh in the comity of nations.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Mahmuda Khanum, Registrar Dr M.A Hannan and Dr M.A Jabbar, Chair Department of Economics, speaking on the occasion, recalled different stages of movement during sixties leading to war of liberation and achievement of   glorious victory. They detailed the  problems being faced by academic institutions due to prolonged unrest in the country. Academics  urged patriotic political forces and the people at large to to ensure social peace necessary to consolidate national sovereignty,  independence and socio-economic development.
Director Administration Selina Nargis, Chairs, Directors, Coordinators, Faculties of different Colleges and Departments  members of staff and  students  joined program arranged at green campus on the bank of the River Turag
Prof.Dr.M Alimullah, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, now in academic conference abroad, in his message said independence has opened tremendous opportunities in all fronts including academic arena. IUBAT and other 72 non-government universities emerged in private sector are the product of our  independence, mentioning this, he said advanced knowledge and technology in line with global changes can help us build knowledge based society.
Earlier, hoisting of national flag with national anthem by a smart contingent of students followed discussion meeting, cultural gala, offering prayers for mother land and distribution of sweets.
