A housewife was beaten to death allegedly by her husband at West Garakhola in
Madhukhali upazila on Wednesday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Rebeka Parveen, 28, wife of Haidar Mollah of the village.
Police and locals said Haidar, son of Hannan Mollah, used to torture his wife Rebeka,
daughter of Hannan Mollah of Shesthapur village of Rajbari district, since their marriage
six years back.
Haider beat up Rebeka with stick indiscriminately on Wednesday midnight following a
family feud, leaving her dead on the spot.
Haider went into hiding after the incident.
Sub-inspector Shahidul Islam of Madhukhali Police Station said on information, police
recovered the body and sent it to Faridpur district hospital morgue for autopsy.
Victim’s father Hannan Mollah filed a case against Haidar with the police station. -UNB
