Banks and financial institutions of the country have distributed some 22,000 blankets among the cold-stricken poor people. Responding to a call by Bangladesh Bank (BB), several banks and financial institutions have already provided about 7,000 blanks to BB officials for distribution, and distributed some 14,000 on their own, said a press relesea on Thursday. The financial institutions include United Commercial Bank Ltd, Standard Chartered Bank, First Security Islami Bank Ltd, IFIC Bank Ltd, Islami Bank Ltd, National Bank Ltd, Social Islami Bank Ltd and Mutual Trust Bank Ltd. – UNB
