100 hurt in Habiganj clash

Over 100 people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers in Baniachang upazila of the district on Thursday.
Police and locals said some youths of Ikram village had an altercation with some youths of Uttar Sangar village at a village fair at Ikram village on Tuesday.As a sequel to the altercation, both groups attacked each other with lethal weapons on Thursday morning that left over 100 people from both
sides injured.Police fired 210 rounds of rubber bullets and 42 rounds tear shells to bring the situation under control.Five of the injured were admitted to Osmani Medical College Hospital while others to sadar hospital.Additional police were deployed in the two villages to avert further trouble. –UNB, Habiganj
