Dhaka – Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members arrested two alleged gun-runners along with an automatic stain machine carbine (SMC), 20 bullets and a magazine in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.
The arrested were identified as Ratan Paul, 40, and Chandan Paul, 35. They are two siblings.The elite force had information that sophisticated firearms and ammunition were kept at a house at Eidgah Palpara in the district town, assistant police super Mofizul Islam of Rab-7 told journalists.
Based on the information, a special team of the crime busters conducted a drive at the house and recovered the submachine carbine, well known as Sten gun, bullets and magazine.
The Rab members also arrested Ratan and Chandan, sons of Arnab Paul, in this connection. – UNB
